1. Who we are and how to contact us

StrimStory SRL is Romanian company with its registered office in Bucharest, District 3, Drumul Gura Făgetului street, no. 63-67, Block 1, 4th floor, Ap. 31, registered to the Trade Register Office of Bucharest Court under no. J40/3789/2020, with sole registration number 42403343, hereinafter referred to as "StrimStory" or "us".

As we are always open to find out your opinions and views, as well as to provide you with any additional information you may need regarding the processing of your data, we encourage you to contact us using the contact form, by e-mail at gdpr@strimstory.com or by mail or courier at Bucharest, District 3, Drumul Gura Făgetului street, no. 63-67, Block 1, 4th floor, Ap. 31, Romania.

2. What data do we process, how is it collected, for what purpose and for how long do we store it

Depending on the purpose of the interaction, we collect the data in various direct and indirect forms.

By accessing our website

When accessing our website, the following data is automatically sent without our intervention by your browser to our server:

  • the IP address of your terminal connected to the internet;
  • date and time of access;
  • the name of the accessed section;
  • the used browser;
  • the web page / application from which the access took place (Referrer-URL);
  • the operating system used by your terminal.

Purpose: This information is temporarily stored in a so-called Log-File for the following purposes:

  • ensuring an optimal connection;
  • assessment of system safety and stability.

Recipients: We exclude any transfer of this data to third parties.

Duration of storage: The data is stored for up to 3 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

By sending messages using the contact form or the "Become a Partner" form

The personal data you make available to us by filling in the contact form or the "Become a Partner" form is processed in accordance with the GDPR principles.

The data collected are as follows:

  • Your first and last name;
  • Phone number;
  • Email address.

Depending on the form, we also process other information such as the company name in the case of the "Become a Partner" form or information related to the nature of the problem you are facing sent through the contact form. The legal ground for processing the data is the legitimate interest, in accordance with art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR.

Purpose: We process this data for the purpose of resolving requests received through the contact form or to initiate a possible partnership in the future.

Recipients: We exclude any transfer of this data to third parties.

Duration of storage: Any personal data you provide to us will be deleted or anonymized by us within 90 days from the final reply being sent to you. In isolated cases, for legal reasons, your personal data may be stored for a longer period of time. In such cases, the storage period will not exceed the legally regulated retention periods.

Notify when the application is available form

This form is addressed to persons that wants to receive and email notification when the application is launched and ready to download.

The data collected are as follows:

  • Email address.

Duration of storage: After the application is launched the notifications are sent and the emails automatically deleted.

By registering a StrimStory user account

Access to the platform is only made if you have a user account with us.

During an account registration, the following data will be collected:

  • Your first and last name;
  • Email address;
  • Date of birth;
  • Country of residence.
  • County (only for Romania).

In addition to the above mentioned data, the preferred categories will be collected after registration along with the languages in which you want to listen the materials provided on the platform. With this information we customize and improve the StrimStory experience.

We use Stripe payment processing service to handle payments or Google Play for Android users. Card data used to make payments are not stored on our servers.

Purpose:

  • To allow access to platform materials;
  • Billing;
  • To personalize user experience;
  • For compliance with legal obligations;

Recipients: For card payments on the website, StrimStory sends the necessary data to Stripe. Also, if we have a legal obligation or if it is necessary to defend a legitimate interest, we may disclose certain personal data to public authorities.
We ensure that access to your data by third parties under private law is in accordance with the legal provisions on data protection and confidentiality of information, on the basis of contracts with them.

Duration of storage: As a general rule, we will store your personal data as long as you have an account in the StrimStory platform. You may request to delete certain information or close your account at any time, and we will respond to such requests. Certain information may be retained after the account has been closed, where applicable law or our legitimate interests requires.

3. Use of cookies and similar techniques for processing data

Cookies are small text files that are saved on your computer (laptop, tablet, smartphone or similar) when you visit our websites. Cookies do not affect your terminal, do not contain viruses, trojan horses or other harmful software, and cannot access information from the user's hard drive. However, this does not mean that we receive data directly about your identity.

The use of cookies serves – depending on the category of cookies – the following purposes:

  • Technically required: These are cookies without which you cannot use our services (for example, to display correctly our website/functions, to facilitate electronic communication, detect connection errors, identify connection points, website security, etc.)
  • Comfort: With these techniques we can consider your real or presumed preferences for the best use of our websites. For example, with your settings we can display our website in a language that is right for you.
  • Statistics: These techniques allow us to compile anonymous statistics on the use of our services for the purpose of organization according to needs. Thus, we can determine, for example, how we can even better adapt our websites to the habits of users.

4. To which countries we transfer your data

Storage and processing of your personal data is only carried out on the territory of Romania. Exception to this rule applies to card payments, which are carried out outside of Romania but in accordance with the GDPR (Stripe-GDPR).

5. How we protect the security of your data

We are committed to ensure the security of personal data by implementing technical and organizational measures, according to industry standards for both their transmission and storage.

Despite the measures taken to protect your personal data, we draw your attention to the fact that the transmission of information through the Internet in general or via other public networks is not entirely secure and there is a risk that the data may be seen and used by unauthorized third parties. We cannot be responsible for such vulnerabilities of systems that are not under our control.

6. Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) recognize the following rights in relation to your personal data:

Right of access by the data subject
You can ask us:
  • to confirm if we process your personal data;
  • to provide a copy of this data;
  • to give you other information about your personal data such as what data do we have, what we use, to whom we disclose it, if we transfer it abroad and how we protect it, while preserving it, what rights you have, how you can make a complaint, where we have obtained your data, to the extent that the information has not already been provided to you by this section.
Right to rectification
You may ask us to rectify or fill in your inaccurate or incomplete personal data. We may try to verify the accuracy of the data before it is rectified.
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
You may ask us to delete your personal data, but only if:
  • they are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;
  • you have withdrawn your consent (if the processing of the data is based on consent);
  • exercise a legal right to oppose;
  • they have been processed illegally;
  • we have a legal obligation to do so.
We are not obligated to comply with your request to delete your personal data if the processing of your personal data is necessary:
  • for compliance with a legal obligation;
  • for the establishment, exercise or defense of a right in court.

There are certain other circumstances in which we are not obliged to comply with your request for data deletion, although these two are the most likely circumstances in which we could refuse your request.

Right to restriction of processing
You may ask us to restrict the processing of personal data, but only if:
  • their accuracy is contested (see rectifying section) to enable us to check their accuracy;
  • processing is illegal, but you do not want the data to be deleted;
  • they are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected, but you need them to establish, exercise or defend a right in court;
  • you have exercised your right to oppose, and verification whether our rights prevail is ongoing.
We may continue to use your personal data following a restriction request if:
  • we have your consent;
  • in order to establish, exercise or ensure the defense of a right in court;
  • to protect the rights of StrimStory or other individual or legal person.
Right to data portability
You may ask us to provide your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or you may request that it be "ported" directly to another data controller, but in each case only if:
  • processing is based on your consent or based on a contract with you;
  • processing shall be carried out by automatic means.
Right to object
You may object at any time, for reasons connected with your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data in the light of our legitimate interest, if you consider that your fundamental rights and freedoms take precedence over that interest. You can also oppose processing your data for direct marketing purposes at any time (including profiling) without giving any reason, in which case we will cease processing as soon as possible.
Automated individual decision-making, including profiling
You may request that you are not subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, but only where that decision:
  • it has legal effect with regard to you;
  • it otherwise affects you in a similar way and to a significant extent.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
